CSE 500X is a summer-camp based USA Computing Olympiad Training class. We have numbers of students currently in Silver level, 5 students in Gold level and 2 student in Platinum level. Many of students got 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in local coding competition like MIHS coding competition(teamscode.com) and PSCSTA coding competition(pscsta.org)
USACO is the most prestigious pre-college Computer Science competition in the states. For more information on USACO: http://www.usaco.org.

Topics included but not limited to: File I/O, String, Array, Hash Map/Dictionary, Sorting(selection sort or insertion sort, quick sort and merge sort), Searching(brute force, flood fill, binary search), Tree, BFS, DFS, Recursion, Heap, Intro to Greedy Algorithms, Intro to Dynamic Programming.

Prerequisites: CSE 203 or CSE 203X or having the equivalent Java programming knowledge.

Preferred: CSE 303 or CSE 303X or having the equivalent data structure and algorithms knowledge.

Equipment: iMac 21.5 Inch All-in-one Desktop Computers are provided.

Goal: Train and prepare students to pass USACO contests to become Gold level contestants.
